Constitutional organs · Article VI, Section 5

Public Trust and Ethics Forum

Mandate

The forum reviews questions related to public harm, procedural legitimacy, institutional fairness, and ecosystem-level trust impacts. It is the organ that keeps IAASO anchored to its public-interest boundary (Article II, Section 5) rather than narrowing into a commercial labeling scheme.

Responsibilities

  • Review of public-harm questions raised by standards or certification practice
  • Assessment of procedural legitimacy and institutional fairness
  • Advice on ecosystem-level trust impacts of proposed standards
  • Input to the annual accountability report (Article XVI, Section 4)

Composition

Deliberately broad: institutional members, individual experts, and observers may all be seated, so that perspectives beyond implementers — operators, researchers, affected communities — are represented.

How to join

Open to all participation classes, including observers. Indicate interest in the forum when applying for membership.
